Projection Mapping · Motion  ·  2022
Projection mapping on the grand mural at the Arts of the Kingdom museum — a vast artwork woven in Thai silk, brought to life with moving light. Royal chariots from the mural were animated and mapped back onto the painting.
The hard part: the silk piece is about 10 m wide, so the image had to come from two projectors on each side, fired from the corners of the opposite wall to stay sharp. I ran it alone from start to finish — reading the brief, designing and pitching the project, measuring the hall on site, redesigning around it, coordinating the contractor who installed the projectors, then producing the motion graphics that make the still story move with the narration. It is still showing at the museum today; entry is ticketed, so only stills and pre-projection content are shown here.
Process: mural study → 3D pre-visualisation of the hall → chariot animation → on-site mapping.
Pitch & Pre-visualisation
The proposal deck for the museum: three story rooms — the silk-embroidered “Inao” scene, the jewel-beetle wing room and the carved-wood “Sang Thong” tableau — plus the floor-2 display cases. Each room was planned with story beats, effect studies, 3D scene mock-ups and projector placement.
