Personal project · School of Bangkok: International Art and Design Exhibition 2023 · "Bangkok Feel Good :-) Feel Good Bangkok"
An original character world built around a Bangkok street food vendor (รถเข็น) — a headphone-wearing runner, a fire-breathing rooster and a fierce grandma, chasing through the city. Developed from rough sketches through a full running-cycle animation, a self-published zine in three cover colorways, and a gallery exhibition.
Artist statement — Street-cart food is the definition of mobile selling in Thailand, part of Thai life for generations: the fun of buying from a cart, or waiting for one to roll up to your door. Rot Khen (“Cart”) shares that experience, found nowhere else in the world, as video motion.
Character Design & Development
From a rough face sketch to a full run cycle — hand-drawn line art, a colored keyframe pass, an 8-frame running animation, and the finished characters: the headphone-wearing runner, the rooster and the grandma.
Rot Khen Cart & City Props
The rot khen cart itself, built up piece by piece, alongside the flower garland and street-sign props, plus a set of Bangkok landmark icons — the train station, the Giant Swing (Sao Ching Cha) and a park tree — designed for the same illustrated world.
Zine Covers & Merch Mock-up
The project came together as a self-published zine in three cover colorways. The "Bangkok Feel Good" tote bag is a merch mock-up — an idea for taking the character world onto everyday products, not a produced item.
Exhibition Day
Signing zines, animated artwork on the gallery screen, and celebrating with friends at the School of Bangkok exhibition opening.
